The Pulteney Distillery, which bottles its single malts as "Old Pulteney", was founded in 1826 in the harbor town of Wick in the northern Highlands. When the distillery opened, the town of Wick was experiencing a massive boom in herring fishing. The large number of people employed in the fishery forced the town council to declare a ban on alcohol in Wick. Pulteney is one of the few Scottish distilleries located in the town center and not outside.

Old Pulteney 16 years matured in American oak and Spanish oak casks. Bottled at a mild 46 % vol. alcohol.

Aroma: Warm tones of bourbon vanilla and honey emerge here. The whole is accompanied by dark chocolate, oak and something floral.

Taste: A full-bodied bouquet of spicy aromas such as white pepper and ginger is combined with traces of the sea, some citrus freshness and oak.
