The Bruichladdich distillery was founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers on the shores of Loch Indaal. Closed in 1994, a group of private investors breathed new life into the distillery in 2000. Today, Bruichladdich produces single malt whisky under its own name on the island of Islay without any peat smoke. The Port Charlotte is a medium smoky whisky and the Octomore is the world's smokiest single malt.

Octomore 14.1 5 Jahre 2024 reifte fünf Jahre in First Fill American Whiskey Fässern.  Abgefüllt mit kräftigen 59,1 vol. % Alkohol, ohne Farbstoff und nicht kältefiltriert.

Aroma: Karamell und lebhafte Zitrusnoten, zart eingehüllt in Octomores trockenen, erdigen Torfrauch. Es folgen würziger Anis, Vanille und weicher Vanillepudding, wobei tropische Früchte, Geranie und ein Hauch von Ingwer das süße Malz ergänzen.

Geschmack: Die unmittelbare Hitze am Gaumen wird durch süßes trockenes Malz und erdigen Rauch ausgeglichen. Ein erfrischendes Medley aus Mango, Banane und Aprikosenmarmelade durchschneidet den berauschenden Torf, wunderschön abgerundet durch Vanillepudding und Toffee. Etwas Wasser lässt den Rauch sich öffnen und bringt subtile Meeresnoten und warmen Sand hervor.
