Mackmyra Identitet 2023 Swedish Whiskey, 0.7l, alc. 48.7% vol.

The history of the Swedish distillery Mackmyra can be traced back to 1998, when eight friends met for a ski trip. After noticing that everyone had brought a bottle of single malt whiskey for the host, the group began to philosophize about the production of Swedish whiskey. A year later, Mackmyra was founded. After further years of experimentation, two recipes were finally created for the production of our own single malt: Elegant (without smoke) and Rök (with smoke).

Mackmyra Identitet 2023 was aged for an undefined period of time in a combination of 31% Ambassador barrels (ex-bourbon body and Swedish oak floors), 27% ex-bourbon barrels, 23% Swedish oak barrels and 19% American oak barrels . Bottled at 48.7 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not cold filtered.

Aroma: A gentle and deep note of peat, followed by lively citrus notes of orange, sweet vanilla and a subtle nutty undertone.

Taste: Warming and full-bodied with peat smoke and pronounced sweetness as well as mild bitterness, plus aromas of vanilla toffee, brown sugar and cashew nuts. Towards the end lemon, orange and ginger.
