Tobermory was founded in 1798 in the town of the same name on the Scottish island of Mull. After many sales and closures, the distillery was operated as the Ledaig Distillery for some time. After another closure, however, it was renamed Tobermory again. Today, the distillery successfully produces non-smoky whisky, which they bottle as Tobermory. And also smoky single malt, which they bring into the glasses of connoisseurs as Ledaig.
Nose: Notes of Turkish delight and rose petals, balanced with candied fruit and grapes, followed by rich leather and a beautiful peppery spice. A hint of chocolate comes through in the background.
Taste: Creamy mouthfeel packed with almonds, barley and sweet malt. With notes of peppery Ledaig, black raspberries, sweet vanilla and cocoa. With cinnamon spice and hints of freshly cut grass.
