Tobermory was founded in 1798 in the town of the same name on the Scottish island of Mull. After many sales and closures, the distillery was operated as the Ledaig Distillery for some time. After another closure, however, it was renamed Tobermory again. Today, the distillery successfully produces non-smoky whisky, which they bottle as Tobermory. And also smoky single malt, which they bring into the glasses of connoisseurs as Ledaig.
Ledaig 10 years matured the entire time in oak barrels. Bottled with 46.3% alcohol by volume, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Light phenolic peat smoke with hints of oak, sweet and spicy notes and essential oils.
Taste: Sweet and grainy with caramel and some pepper, herbal peat smoke, citrus and some oak.
