Lagavulin is a whisky distillery in the town of the same name on the Isle of Islay in Scotland. Whisky was produced at the site of the current distillery as early as 1742. However, the first legal distillery was not founded until 1816 by John Johnston. Located in the south of the island, in close proximity to Ardbeg and Laphroaig, Lagavulin produces smoky single malt whisky like its neighbors. The name of the distillery translates as "the hollow of the mill".

Lagavulin 8 Jahre reifte die komplette Zeit in einer Kombination aus ehemaligen Bourbon- und Sherryfässern. Abgefüllt mit kräftigen 48 vol. % Alkohol.

Aroma: Mittelstarker Torfrauch, aromatischer Mix aus Süße und Würze, maritime Noten mit Getreide und zarter Eiche.

Geschmack: Rauchiges Malz, Jod und Seetang, geröstete Erdnüsse, maritime Frische, Anklänge von Vanille und Zitrus.
