Highland Park is not only one of the northernmost distilleries in Scotland, but also one of the oldest. The operators of the distillery claim that it was founded back in 1798. Located in the small town of Kirkwall on the Orkneys, Highland Park produces a spicy, smoky single malt and is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to use its own malting floors. The bottlings bear names reminiscent of the Vikings.

Highland Park Ice 17 Years matured the entire time in ex-bourbon casks. Bottled with a strong 53.9% vol. alcohol, without colorant and not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Aromatic mix of sweetness and spice with exotic fruit notes, herbs and heather, malty with dry oak.

Taste: Sweet with cake batter and cookies, caramel and vanilla, fruity with pineapple and mango, light smoke and pleasant oak.
