In 1966, John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son, and the Cork Distilleries Company (which operated the Old Midleton Distillery) merged to form the Irish Distillers Group. Following this, it was decided to close the existing distilleries and consolidate all production in a new, highly modern facility, which was built in Midleton. Production at the Old Jameson Distillery ended in 1975 and began at the new one. The old distillery has since been converted into a visitor center.

Green Spot Chateau Montelena matured for an unspecified time in American bourbon and sherry casks before receiving its 12-month finish in former Zinfandel wine casks. Bottled at 46% vol. alcohol.

Aroma: Fruity, malty, sweet vanilla, white chocolate, marshmallows, red apples, ripe pears, cranberries, cherries .

Taste: Slightly spicy, fruity, malt, honey, citrus fruits, red berries, a hint of marzipan, toasted oak .
