A local farmer named George Connell founded the Glengoyne Distillery in the southern Highlands in 1833. However, under the name "Burnfoot of Dumgoyne". It was then renamed Glenguin Distillery in 1861. It was not until 1906, following its sale to the Lang brothers, that it was given the name "Glengoyne" that we know today. Most of the distillery's single malts are released with an age statement.
Glengoyne 10 years matured the entire time in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Bottled at a mild 40 % vol. Alcohol, without colorant.
Aroma: Sweet with barley malt, vanilla and green apples, some oak.
Taste: Citrusy, powdered sugar with hints of coconut and nuts, some dry oak.
