Balvenie 18 years French Pineau Cask 0.7l alc 47.9 vol.-%

The Balvenie distillery was founded in 1892 right next to the Glenfiddich distillery and is still family-run today. Connoisseurs appreciate the smooth single malts produced by the distillery, which is one of the few in Scotland to still operate its own malt floors. Balvenie also produces smoky whisky - rather untypically for the Scottish Speyside. The 18-year-old Balvenie French Pineau Cask is the older brother of the Bourbon Barrel bottling from the new Curious Cask Collection series, which is the result of curiosity and close collaboration between Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie and Samples Coordinator George Paterson.

Balvenie 18 years matured the entire time in French Pineau Cask. Bottled with 47.9 vol. % alcohol, without coloring.

Aroma: Warming notes with accents of toasted oak and delicate spices are overlaid with silky caramel and a hint of ripe berries.

Taste: Facets of spice and a full-bodied sweetness complemented by creamy vanilla and honey before gentle woody tannins arrive.
