Ballechin Cask Strength 13 years 0.7l, alc. 54.9 Vol.-%

The Edradour distillery, once the smallest distillery in Scotland, has been independently owned again since 2002. Run by Andrew Symington, the owner and founder of the company Signatory Vintage, the Highland distillery has a truly luminary owner. Since he took over, a wide variety of bottlings have been released on the market on a regular basis. Edradour bottles single malts under its own name without peat smoke, and as Ballechin with peat smoke.

Ballechin Cask Strength 13 years 2023 matured the entire time in a combination of ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at cask strength with 54.9% alcohol by volume, no coloring and non-chill filtered, 50 ppm.

Aroma: Campfire notes with sweet sherry, gooseberries and plums followed by dark grapes, heather honey and subtle accents of European oak.

Taste: Intense smoky notes envelop orange zest, dark chocolate and wood spices. This is followed by hints of raisins, apricots and salted pistachios before subtle nuances of pepper are added.
