The Ardbeg distillery, located in the south of the Scottish island of Islay, can today - after a once difficult past including closure - call itself one of the best addresses when it comes to smoky single malts. In addition to various permanently available whiskeys, the distillery is known and popular for temporarily available, limited bottlings.

The Ardbeg Heavy Vapors was distilled for the first time without a purifier, which is essential for the balance between aromas of peat and fruit, and matured in ex-bourbon casks for an undefined period of time. Bottled at 46 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Aroma : Sweet and fresh with maritime smokiness, hints of tar and hay, malty with hints of herbal honey.

Palate : Ash and smoke, sweet with honey and delicate herbs, some citrus with smoky malt and some marzipan.
