The Ardbeg distillery, located in the south of the Scottish island of Islay, can today - after a once difficult past including closure - call itself one of the best addresses when it comes to smoky single malts. In addition to various permanently available whiskeys, the distillery is known and popular for temporarily available, limited bottlings.

Ardbeg An Oa matured for an undefined period in a mixture of ex-Bourbon and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, supplemented with fresh casks (Virgin Oak). Bottled at 46.6 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not cold filtered.

Aroma: Pleasant peat smoke with sweet and spicy nuances, underlying fruit notes, some anise, pepper and oak.

Taste: Mix of sweetness and spice, light herbal note, characteristic peat smoke with hints of tea leaves.
