Strathmill Distillery was built in 1891 on the site of a flour mill in Speyside, Scotland. At that time the distillery was still called Glenisla-Glenlivet. It was not named Strathmill until 1895, when the company W. and A. Gilbey bought it. Today the distillery belongs to Diageo, original bottlings are very rare and therefore popular with collectors.
Strathmill 25 years matured the entire time in ex-bourbon casks. Bottled with a strong 52.4 vol. % alcohol.
Nose: Creamy and sweet with malted barley, mild spices, ripe citrus and dry oak.
Taste: Sugary-sweet, honey and cinnamon, spicy with cloves, oranges and zest, menthol and spices.
