In 1966, John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son and the Cork Distilleries Company (which operated Old Midleton Distillery) combined to form the Irish Distillers Group. Subsequently, it was decided to close the existing distilleries and to bundle the entire production in a new, very modern facility. This was built in Midleton. In 1975 production ended at the Old Jameson Distillery and began at the new one. The old distillery has now been converted into a visitor centre.

Redbreast 12 years matured the entire time in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV. Alcohol. 5 € per bottle goes to a nature conservation association to preserve the robin, the casing of the bottle can be used as a birdhouse.

Aroma: Crunchy grain with a delicate sweetness, citrus fruits and zest, dry oak with some spice.

Taste: Sweet and spicy in the mix, toffee and cloves, pears and oranges, dry grain.
