Pokeno Discovery 2022 Single Malt Whiskey New Zealand 0.7l, alc. 43% by volume

Pokeno Distillery is located south of Auckland. For their whisky, they use spring water from the volcanic hilly landscape that surrounds the distillery. The barley comes from family-run farms located in the fertile south of the island.

Pokeno Discovery matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks for an unspecified amount of time. Bottled at 43 vol. % alcohol, without coloring.

Nose: Mixture of sweetness and spices with hints of raisins and sugared citrus.

Taste: Sweet with brown sugar, delicately nutty with milk chocolate and grapefruit, woody.
