The Laphroaig Distillery was officially founded in 1815 in the south of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. At the time of Prohibition, the distillery's whiskey was sold as medicine, which explains the appearance and features of the whiskeys. In 1994 the distillery received the 'Royal Warrant' from King Charles III. presented. He appreciates the smoky single malt whiskey from Laphroaig and visits the distillery regularly. Laphroaig means something like "the beautiful hollow on the wide bay".

Laphroaig 10 Years Cask Strength Batch 12 matured the entire time in ex-bourbon casks. Bottled at a strong 60.1 vol. % alcohol, not chill filtered.

Aroma: Fresh and maritime, medicinally smoky with seaweed, iodine and spicy oak.

Taste: Mixture of sweetness and spice with some honey and ginger, maritime peat smoke.
