Lagavulin is a whisky distillery in the town of the same name on the Scottish Isle of Islay. Whisky was produced at the site of the current distillery as early as 1742. However, the first legal distillery was not founded until 1816 by John Johnston. Located in the south of the island, in close proximity to Ardbeg and Laphroaig, Lagavulin, like its neighbors, produces smoky single malt whisky. The name of the distillery translates as "the hollow of the mill."

Lagavulin 16 years matured the entire time in European and American oak barrels.

Finished in Caribbean rum casks. Bottled with 43% alcohol by volume.

Nose: Smoldering embers, chili pepper, charred citrus peel, freshly baked crème brûlée, lemon cake, lively top notes, a distinct maritime and salty character, crusty burnt lemon meringue pie.

Taste: Campfire smoke, black pepper, gentle lemon and lime notes, vanilla candy, a contrasting sweet saltiness, brine.
