Only founded in 1967, the Glenallachie Distillery is one of the younger distilleries in Scotland. Since the distillery was taken over by a group of investors in 2017, the focus today has been on its own single malts. These are matured and re-ripened in a variety of different barrel types. When the distillery was taken over, the rights to the MacNair's brand were also acquired. These blended malts contain a large proportion of whiskey from the Glenallachie distillery.
MacNair's Lum Reek Peated matured for an undefined time in a combination of former bourbon, sherry, red wine and fresh oak barrels (Virgin Oak). Bottled at 46% vol. Alcohol, without coloring and not cold filtered.
Aroma: Dry peat smoke with sweetness and delicate spice, malty with a little chocolate.
Taste: Pepper and vanilla, malt sugar and earthy notes, sweet spices and pleasant smoke.
