The Schäfer family distillery was founded in 1869 by Michael Eckert, the great-great-grandfather of the current owner Jörg Schäfer, in Seckmauern in the Odenwald. The business is currently run by the 5th generation of the family and can look back on 150 years of existence in 2019. The distillery primarily processes fruit from our own and local orchards. The finest drops are distilled from various types of apples and pears, sour cherries, plums and mirabelle plums.
Gently slowly distilled. The spirit smells particularly intensely of hazelnuts.
