The hammer mill has been producing spirits in the small town of Zorge in the Harz Mountains since 1984. In 2002, Anna-Katharina Buchholz began to include whiskey in the distillery's portfolio due to her own passion for whiskey. The single malts from the Harz Mountains, which have different names due to the varying distillate character, live from aging in Madeira, Sherry, Marsala, Malaga, red wine, Sauternes and many other casks.

ElsBurn The Journey Edition 2022 matured for an undefined period in a combination of ex-Madeira, Sherry, Port, Marsala, Malaga and Bordeaux casks. Bottled at 43 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Nose: Chocolatey oak with dry nuttiness, dried fruits and sugary sweetness.

Taste: Sweet with brown sugar, delicately spicy with nutmeg, raisins and oranges, nuts.
