The hammer mill has been producing spirits in the small town of Zorge in the Harz Mountains since 1984. In 2002, Anna-Katharina Buchholz began to include whiskey in the distillery's portfolio due to her own passion for whiskey. The single malts from the Harz Mountains, which have different names due to the varying distillate character, live from aging in Madeira, Sherry, Marsala, Malaga, red wine, Sauternes and many other casks.

ElsBurn Amarone Casks Batch 1 matured for an undefined period in former Amarone casks from Valpolicella in Italy. Bottled at 46 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Fruity with a delicate sweetness, dry grain, hints of chocolate, spice and oak.

Taste: Fruit gums, mix of sweetness and spices with cereals, toasty notes and some oak.
