The Schäfer family distillery was founded in 1869 by Michael Eckert, the great-great-grandfather of the current owner Jörg Schäfer, in Seckmauern in the Odenwald. The company is currently being run by the 5th generation of the family and can look back on 150 years of existence in 2019. The distillery mainly processes the fruit from its own and local orchard stocks. The finest drops are distilled from various apple and pear varieties, sour cherries, plums and mirabelle plums.

The apple variety Goldparmäne has been considered a top variety by apple connoisseurs for centuries.

The distillate of the gold parmane is a real treat. The fresh typical smell of fully ripe fruity apples with fine nutty hints is unmistakable.

On the palate, a gently aromatic, wonderful mouthfeel unfolds, which allows you to taste complex, fruity aromas. The finish is quite gentle but lasting.
