Die ursprüngliche Wolfburn Distillery wurde 1821 von William Smith & Co gegründet in den nördlichen Highlands gegründet. Um 1850 wurde die Produktion eingestellt, die Brennerei verfiel. 1872 waren nur noch Ruinen übrig. Erst ab dem Jahr 2011 entstanden Pläne für eine neue Destillerie unweit des Geländes der alten Anlage. Im Januar 2013 begann man dann mit der Whiskyproduktion.
Wolfburn 100 Years of the Poppy reifte für nicht definierte Zeit in einer Kombination aus ehemaligen Islay-Quarter Casks und Sherryfässern. Abgefüllt mit 46 vol. % Alkohol, ohne Farbstoff und nicht kältefiltriert.
Aroma: Floral und getreidebetont, Anklänge reifer Früchte und cremiger Süße, mild würzig.
Geschmack: Fruchtig mit Birnen, weihnachtlichen Gewürzen, Vanille und Heidekraut, nussig.
