Bunnahabhain was founded in 1881 by the Greenless brothers on the Scottish island of Islay and translates as "estuary". The distillery has one of the largest stills on the island and produces whisky both with and without smoke. With an approximate smoke content of 38 ppm, the peated bottlings are considered to be rather mildly smoky. These are very often found in the typical Bunnahabhain bottle, which is very dark in color under Gaelic names.
Bunnahabhain Toiteach A Dhà matured for an undefined period in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Bottled at 46.3% alcohol by volume, without colorant and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Cold smoke with a light herbal note, hints of dark berries, nuts and some oak.
Taste: Mild spiciness with pepper, fruity, sweet caramel, maritime peat smoke, dry oak notes.
