The Jim Beam Distillery was founded by German-born Johannes Jakob Böhm, who later changed his name to Jacob Beam. The whiskey he produced became known as Bourbon, named after Bourbon County in Kentucky. The founder's great-grandson, Colonel James B. Beam, rebuilt the company near his home town of Clermont after Prohibition in 1933. Other company directors were T. Jeremiah Beam and his son James B. Beam Booker Noe. Booker Noe's son, Fred Noe, continues the family tradition and runs Jim Beam today.
Jim Beam Devil's Cut matured for an undefined period in fresh American white oak barrels (Virgin Oak). Bottled with 45 % vol. Alcohol, without colorant.
Aroma: Distinct oak notes with a mix of dry and spicy, somewhat mineral.
Taste: Dry wood, spicy with pepper and hints of dark fruitiness.
