The Laphroaig Distillery was officially founded in 1815 in the south of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. During Prohibition, the distillery's whisky was sold as medicine, which explains the appearance and features of the whiskies. In 1994, the distillery received the Royal Warrant from King Charles III. He greatly appreciates the smoky single malt whisky from Laphroaig and visits the distillery regularly. Laphroaig translates as "the beautiful hollow by the wide bay".

Laphroaig 18 Jahre reifte die komplette Zeit in ehemaligen Bourbonfässern. Abgefüllt mit 48 vol. % Alkohol, nicht kühlgefiltert.

Aroma: Süß mit Vanille und Toffee dazu sanfte Anklänge von Stachelbeere, Kochapfel und einem Hauch Zimt. Noten von frisch gebackenem Apfelkuchen folgen. 

Geschmack: Ölig, süß und vollmundig mit fruchtigen Facetten von Orangen und Nektarinen, gefolgt von Kräuternoten von frisch geschnittener Minze, Heidehonig, einer subtilen Ingwerschärfe und torfigen Noten.
