After his father's death in 1819, John Walker and his mother sold the family farm near the Scottish town of Kilmarnock and used the proceeds to open a general store in the town. After a while, the store's product range was expanded to include whisky. John experimented with blending methods that were used for tea at the time and applied them to whisky. Today, Johnnie Walker is the best-selling Scotch whisky in the world .

Johnnie Walker 12 Years Black Label matured the entire time in oak barrels. Bottled with a mild 40% alcohol by volume.

Aroma: Slightly smoky, citrus and ripe fruit, delicate sweetness, cereals.

Taste: Sweet honey and vanilla, hints of apples and lemons, a hint of smoke, malty.
